Welcome to Pyrelith of Bastion's privacy policy. Look, we're not gonna bore you with endless legal jargon - though there's some of that coming, can't avoid it entirely. Bottom line? When you stay with us or even just browse our website, we collect certain bits of information. This policy breaks down what we grab, why we need it, and how we keep it safe.
Operating from our heritage fortress at 1288 Castle Ridge Boulevard in Vancouver, we're bound by Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA, for those who care about acronyms), and we take that responsibility seriously. You're trusting us with your stay, and we don't take that lightly.
By using our website or services, you're agreeing to what's laid out here. If something doesn't sit right with you, reach out before making a reservation - we're happy to chat about it.
When you book a suite or contact us, we'll need the basics - your name, email, phone number, mailing address. If you're booking for someone else, we'll need their info too. Credit card details for payment, obviously, though we don't store full card numbers on our servers.
Your check-in and check-out dates, room preferences (got a favorite tower suite?), special requests like dietary restrictions for our fine dining, spa appointments, heritage tour bookings - basically everything that makes your stay yours.
Your IP address, browser type, device info, pages you visit on our site, how long you hang around. Standard website analytics stuff. We use cookies for this - more on that below.
Emails, phone calls, chat logs with our concierge team. We keep these to improve service and, honestly, to remember your preferences for next time. Some guests have very specific requests about their wine cellar visits!
We're not collecting data just for fun. Here's what we actually do with it:
We won't sell your data to third parties for their marketing purposes. That's not how we operate here at the fortress.
Sometimes we need to share your information with others, but we're selective about it:
Payment processors, booking platform partners, email service providers, analytics tools - companies that help us run the hotel. They're contractually obligated to protect your data and can't use it for their own purposes.
If you book a guided heritage tour or spa service through a partner, they'll need relevant details. Local tour operators, wellness professionals - folks who help make your experience memorable.
If the law requires it, we'll share info with government authorities, law enforcement, or courts. We're not thrilled about it, but compliance isn't optional.
In the unlikely event we sell or merge the hotel, your data would be part of that transfer. You'd be notified if this happens, and the new owners would need to honor this privacy policy.
We've invested in protecting your information like we've invested in maintaining this historic fortress - seriously and thoroughly.
That said, no system is 100% foolproof. We do our absolute best, but if you notice anything suspicious with your booking or account, let us know immediately at reservations@pyrelithofbastion.info.
Pro tip: Use a strong, unique password if you create an account with us. And don't share your booking confirmation details publicly - they contain info that could be misused.
Under Canadian privacy law (and just basic decency), you've got rights regarding your personal information:
Request a copy of what we have on file about you. Fair question - it's your info after all.
If something's wrong in our records, tell us and we'll fix it. Misspelled name? Wrong address? We'll sort it.
Ask us to delete your data, though we might need to keep some stuff for legal or legitimate business reasons (like past booking records for accounting).
Unsubscribe from promotional emails anytime. There's a link at the bottom of every marketing email we send.
Get your data in a format you can use elsewhere if you want to transfer it.
In certain situations, you can object to how we're using your data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at reservations@pyrelithofbastion.info or call +1 (604) 555-0147. We'll respond within 30 days, usually sooner.
Note: We might need to verify your identity before processing certain requests - just to make sure we're not handing your data to someone else.
We don't keep your information forever - just as long as we need it or as long as the law requires.
When we no longer need your data, we securely delete or anonymize it. "Anonymize" means stripping out anything that identifies you personally while keeping general patterns for our records.
Our website and services aren't directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from kids.
If you're booking for a family and including your children's information as part of the reservation, that's fine - but the booking needs to be made by an adult. We'll only use kids' information for the specific reservation purposes.
If we discover we've accidentally collected data from a child under 16 without proper parental consent, we'll delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe we might have such information should contact us right away.
Privacy laws evolve, our services change, technology advances - so yeah, we might update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
For minor changes (typo fixes, clarifications), we'll just post the updated version. For significant changes that affect how we handle your data, we'll notify you via email if we have your contact info, or we'll post a prominent notice on our website.
We encourage you to review this policy occasionally, especially before making a new reservation. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
Got questions, concerns, or requests about your privacy or this policy? We're here to help. Seriously - don't hesitate to reach out.
